Hello and Welcome to St John’s
We are a medium sized Anglican church situated in Windlesham, Surrey and are the only church in the village. We are a relaxed and friendly bunch of all different ages and backgrounds who look forward to welcoming new faces to our services or groups.
We believe that everybody is on a personal journey with God and, as a community, we strive to support that journey whether it is just starting or well established. We desire together to build a firm foundation from which to grow God’s Kingdom through worship, prayer, teaching, fellowship and service. We are a part of the Guildford Diocese and the Church of England and ascribe to their Statements of Belief. You can find out more about what that means, and the Christian faith in general, by clicking here.
Our desire is to create an environment where all can experience the tangible love of God in their lives. We do this through our 3 key mission principles
Loving God
We believe in a LOVING GOD and that God’s love has been explicitly shown to us through God’s son, Jesus Christ.
We believe that as the people of God we must show our LOVING GOD in and through all we say, think and do.
About people
We believe God’s caring compassionate concern ABOUT PEOPLE has been revealed throughout history.
We believe the church is ABOUT PEOPLE just like you who are on journey of discovery with God.
For you
We believe that God is FOR YOU whatever your life situation or circumstance.
We pray that whether you are struggling, walking, or dancing through life that you will find St John’s to be a place FOR YOU.
There has been a church on the site of St John’s for over 800 years and throughout that time it has had the role of sharing the love of God and reaching out to the local community through Christian worship, fellowship and service. We continue to try and fulfill that role today and we hope that everyone who comes through the doors at St John’s feels warmly welcomed and soon made to feel part of the church family. We pray that as you share with us you will experience the love of God in your life too.

We like to try and keep busy at St. John’s so there is usually a lot going on that you can come along to and get involved in. As well as our Sunday and Mid-Week services, we also run regular community groups and support activities in the local area such as a toddler group, work with young people and Windlesham Caring. For more information about all the different things we do, and information about how to get involved take a look at our ‘Connections’ pages. If you need any more information about anything contact the group organiser, the Church office or take a look at our ‘Meet the Team’ page to see who can help you the best.
Our Church is also typically open during the day for private prayer so if you fancy some peace and quiet feel free to pop in. Access is via the South porch (white studded door).
Fairtrade
We are a Fairtrade church. This means that we have committed to using as many Fairtrade products as possible and all tea, coffee, sugar, drinking chocolate etc. used on the church premises must be fairly traded.
We also sell products from Traidcraft and Created – tea, coffee, chocolate and other food items as well as gifts and cards – which are produced under strict criteria to receive the fairtrade mark. The producers receive a fair price for the goods as well as a premium which can be used to improve the conditions of the area the producers live in – such as providing facilities for schools, community centres, water supplies etc. The profits from the sale of Fairtrade products at St John’s goes directly towards the costs of paying for the education and upbringing of two children, through leading relieve and development charity, Tearfund. So buying Fairtrade goods from us helps these children and many local producers, which is a really great thing.
More details are available from the Church Office
Raise money through Amazon – Do you buy from Amazon? By visiting Amazon through the Traidcraft website and buying goods, Traidcraft Exchange will receive up to 10% of the value of your items from Amazon. It’s such a simple way to raise money for Traidcraft!
